The bells were rung at High Littleton Church on the 2nd June and on June 4th, bells heralded the opening of Paulton’s Party in the Park. The Church tower was then open to visitors. First stop up the spiral steps was the clock room. The clock, which is one hundred and fifty years old, is awaiting repair. More steps lead to the next level, giving a close up view of the six bells. Finally up the last of the seventy steps and out onto the tower roof, where great views of the village were enjoyed.
The tours proved to be very popular and queueing visitors were treated to an impromptu hand bell ringing class!
If you fancy learning more about the craft of Church bell ringing, come and have a go! We practice at High Littleton Church every Wednesday evening and visitors are always welcome.
