Drivers in and around Bath and North East Somerset will have six National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.
And one of them is expected to cause severe delays – with motorists facing a holdup of at least 30 minutes. Another will cause moderate delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:
• A36, from 7am May 2 to 7pm May 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 both directions Bathampton two-way traffic lights installed by National grid for service connection works.
• A36, from 6am March 1 to 6am September 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Both direction Limpley Stoke, two-way traffic lights for carriageway works.
And a further four closures will begin over the next two weeks:
• A4, from 9am May 12 to 4pm May 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 southbound, London Road exit slip road - lane closure for inspection/surveys.
• A4, from 10pm May 12 to 6am May 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A46 both directions Cold Ashton roundabout to London Road roundabout carriageway closure for drainage, diversion for southbound, via A420, A350, A4. For northbound, follow the same in reverse.
• A4, from 9.30am May 13 to 3pm May 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A4 both directions Bathford roundabout to London Road roundabout lane closure by Bath and North East Somerset Council for general maintenance works.
• A36, from 9pm May 19 to 6am May 20, severe delays (more than 30 minutes): A36 both directions Warminster Road, Limpley Stoke at Scotland Rocks, carriageway closure between Church Lane and B3108 for carriageway renewal, southbound, diversion via - A36, A4, A350 and A361, northbound, diversion via - A361, A350 and A4.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
