STUDENTS from St Mary’s Church of England Primary School and Nursery in Writhlington took part in Odd Socks Day on November 10.

They were encouraged to come to school wearing mismatched socks to mark the start of Anti-Bullying Week, an annual UK event organised by the Anti-Bullying Alliance, which aims to raise awareness of bullying and highlight ways of preventing and responding to it.

Pupils and staff joined a whole-school worship to launch the theme “Make a Noise About Bullying,” with activities promoting respect, empathy, and kindness throughout the week.

A Year One pupil at St Mary’s said: “I like Odd Socks Day because my socks don’t have to be friends, they can just be silly!”
