It has been a busy time at Tabor Independent Church in Timsbury.

On Saturday, members decorated the Church with produce and non-perishable foods in readiness for the Harvest Service on Sunday evening. However, during the day on Sunday the Church was open from 10 am – 4pm for families to visit to catch Harvest Mice and enter into games and competitions. Free refreshments were available all day.

There was a good congregation for the evening service at which Paulton Concert Band provided the music for the hymns and also played a selection of their own repertoire. The service was overseen by Mr E Barge, after which the ladies of the Church served refreshments. The fresh produce was sold, and along with the evening’s collection, the proceeds were donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee Pakistan Appeal. The non-perishable foods were donated to the Somer Valley Foodbank.

The Tabor Ringers have also been busy. The AGM was held recently and all officers were re-elected. Secretary Mrs Barb Spalding gave her report on the Ringers activities which are now slowly resuming and outlined engagements already booked, one of which took place this week, entertaining Clarks Pensioners at St Peter’s Hall Westfield.
