NEW CEO of Bath and North East Somerset Council, Sophie Broadfield, paid a recent visit to Paulton.

She was hosted by local councillor Liz Hardman and Jane Stephenson from “Paulton on the Wild side” and Gail Garlick from “Pride in Paulton” and staff from the parish council.

Ms Broadfield visited the hub café and library, the swimming pool, Memorial Park and Miners’ Recreation Ground, originally provided for Paulton by the mine workers of the village.

She admired the many floral and plant displays in the village and commented on “the many facilities, unique for a village of its size.”

The visit concluded at the new Community Orchard, which will be officially opened on Saturday, April 25, by Cllr Hardman in her role as Chair of B&NES, starting at 2.30pm.
