Trinity Methodist Church, Radstock, was a hive of activity last Saturday morning, with the relaunch of its Coffee Bar – The Trinitea and Coffee Shop. Those attending enjoyed tea and coffee and plenty of homemade cake, with facepainting for the children and balloons.

The hall has had a 'freshen up' and is now modernised, with comfy sofas, cosy areas for people to meet and make new friends. The ideas is to welcome people from the town into the space and bring the community together, opening on Monday to Friday, 9.15 a.m. – 11.30 a.m., and Saturday, 9.15 a.m. – 12 noon.

One of the groups that uses the space is the 'Radstock Knitters', a local knitting group who meet bi-weekly on Saturdays. The group of around twenty was started four years ago by local knitter, Jenny Prowse, who wanted to share her love of knitting with others and to meet other enthusiasts. Since then, the group have created beanie hats as part of the Innocent Smoothie initiative, blankets for Bath Cats and Dogs Home at Claverton, bed jackets for the elderly at the RUH and are currently working on dog coats, for local dog charity, 'Mutts with Friends'.

The group help each other, you do not need to be an expert knitter and beginners are welcome. They are also always in need of donations of wool or knitting needles. If you would like to find out more about the group, find them via Facebook by searching 'Radstock Knitters' or contact Jenny on: 07963 250001.
