A GROUP of yarn bombers have created a trail of wooly creatures across local villages as part of celebrations for High Littleton Village Day.
High Littleton and Hallatrow Yarn bombers have made 14 unique creations under the theme of ‘Creepy Crawlies’, with the group encouraging people to find each yarn bomb in High Littleton and Hallatrow.
Each display is a clue that people are encouraged to try and guess as part of an annual competition.
A yarn bomb trail has been organised in the village since 2017, although the competition aspect wasn’t a factor until 2019.
The competition runs until Friday, August 22, with the results being unveiled at High Littleton Village Day the on Saturday, August 22.
The person who manages to guess the most clues correctly will win £25 on the day. The person who comes in second place will receive £15, while third place wins £10.
Sandra Roberts, a member of High Littleton and Hallatrow Yarn bombers, said: “The core of us have been meeting since 2017 so we’ve known each other for about eight years now, so you do get a bond through the ‘wooly-ness’.
“When we come up with the ideas we’ve got some of us like myself who like to make big things, we’ve got Nat who likes to make tiny things, so we’ve all got our little bits that help us to come up with different ideas.
“It’s nice to see the people going round and making nice comments about how the children have enjoyed it and everything.
“It gets people walking through the village and its gets people from other villages to come through as well. And people may pop in a shop for an ice cream or get some fish and chips, or go in the pub for a drink, so hopefully it boosts the businesses as well.”
