Paulton Bowls Club: The week started well with four of our members entered into the Purnells Open Fours competition where, after sometimes extremely close and always keenly contested games against opposition from clubs from near and far, the team managed a very creditable third.

As always the hospitality from Purnells was of a high order and we thank them for a most enjoyable event.

The ladies carried on their winning ways with a two rink to one win at home against Wyrall Park on Tuesday in the Ladies League. Despite winning on only one rink against Weston Bath in Thursdays match friendly, the team managed to score most shots overall.

The MSL match was postponed until the 2nd of August by the request of the opposition, Purnells A team, due to inclement weather conditions, however, looking at the weather forecast I’m not sure conditions will be any better by then.

Saturdays CL match away to Bloomfield Bath saw us, on a beautiful bowling day, have a good win on two rinks and a draw on the third giving us eleven point to just hold on to second place in the table.

Sunday’s Club Triples was rained off after the first round, so the second round and semi-final will be played on the 13th of August, although with the present weather conditions playing time seems to be at a precarious premium.
