Firstly, we would like to welcome the new Fosseway members who have been having coaching for the last few weeks and look forward to seeing them in action.
Well, the Ladies have had a quiet week this week. Tuesday’s game against Weston Bath was postponed due to the weather being so hot. This will now be played on Thursday, 12th July at 2 p.m. at Weston Bath. There was no game scheduled for Thursday.
Wednesday’s Men’s Mid-Somerset League game ended in a loss. Fosseway won on one rink, so only received two points. We fared better on Saturday, in the County League, where Fosseway won on all rinks against Bloomfield B and won overall by 56 shots to 30.
The Mixed MSL game on Friday evening was against Prattens. We won on two rinks, lost on one and won overall, so gained ten of the twelve points.
Three of our ladies – Carole, Sheila and Thelma – are doing very well in the National Triples competition. They beat a team from Purnell and are now in the Quarter-Finals, which they are playing on Wednesday against a triples from Victoria Weston-super-Mare. So we wish them all the very best.
Sunday is our Away Day to Barnwood Bowls Club in Gloucestershire. The coach will be leaving the Centurion at 9 a.m. sharp.
