Not a very successful week for Fosseway Bowls Club. As Monday was Bank Holiday, club night was held on Tuesday and was very well supported.
The Ladies played Alexandra Park in a North Somerset League game on their green. We won on one rink, lost on two (by only one shot on one), but won overall, so we took six of the ten points. Total shots were 53.5 for Fosseway and 48 for Alexandra. Fosseway had only three players on the winning rink, so had to lose a quarter of their score. The other Ladies game scheduled for Thursday of this week was cancelled by Wrington. The Men’s section visited Norwest on Wednesday in the Mid-Somerset League game, and lost on all four rinks.
We played a Mixed MS League game on Friday at home against Frome Park, and won on one rink, so only gained two points. Jacket potatoes were welcomed after the game. Thanks to Celia, Carole and Delia. Also thanks to Delia for filling in for Ray on the bar.
On Sunday, we travelled to Begbrook Park Bowling Club (Frenchay) for a Mixed Friendly game, but lost on every rink. We are looking forward to seeing new bowlers on any club night. Bowls and shoes can be borrowed and tuition given. Ring: 01761 453218 for details.
