Thursday, 17th August saw summer arrive at Bloomfield Bowls Club on the Wellsway, Bath, for an afternoon, when the club hosted the Presidents vs Captains teams for the coveted Dorothy Ellis Trophy.
Mixed teams from the Ladies and Gents members were drawn against each other in a 21-end, closely fought competition, with the Captains’ Team winning overall by three shots. As the game came to an end, so did the short-lived summer – the presentation was a rain-soaked affair!
