Bloomfield Bowls Club, situated on the Wellsway, Bath has opened its green to a new season.

As with the whole country, sport has been severely affected but luckily the lockdown timings meant the club was closed for the season, unlike last year when the club took a huge financial hit because of the pandemic. A spokesman for the club said: “It seems to have been a very long winter, but we are delighted that we are able to open again and offer this great sport to our members.

“We are always looking for new members and if anyone would like to come along and try it out we would welcome you – there are no age barriers as we have players from 18 to 93, coaching is free as is the first year’s membership to new bowlers.”
