Who would believe it! There’s less than seven weeks until the start of the 2020 outdoor bowls season.
As I sit by the fire looking out at the incessant rain, I have to say that I foresee some very lush grass on our green for our opening games this year. That is, if we don’t sink into the mud! On that gloomy note, I will just get on with some reminders before I close the curtains and dream of a long, hot summer.
The first thing I must pass on are the details of Pat Kerton’s funeral. It will be held on Monday, 9th March at 1.30 p.m. at Mendip Crematorium, Shepton Mallet. The family request no flowers but would appreciate any donations which will go to Fosse House Nursing Home where Pat was lovingly cared for during her illness over the last two years.
Also a reminder for our girls that the Ladies Spring meeting will be held on Saturday, 14th March at 2.30 p.m. This is an informal meeting when we get together for a chat, but mainly for the cake!
I know our new Ladies Captain, Kath, would really appreciate your support, so come on girls, get the date in your diary.
Finally, the Quizzy thing which we are running this coming weekend is also in need of your support. It’s a special quiz for those not naturally gifted at answering questions! I’m hoping to get 100% marks from everyone and lots of happy faces, so please don’t let me down!
