PAULTON Bowls Club were away to Weston Bath in their last County League match of the season at the end of August which was played in extremely wet conditions.
However, despite their best efforts, Paulton could only come away with two points from a win on one rink. Well done to Dave Yarlett and his team.
This keeps Paulton in eighth place in the division and ready to fight again next season.
The club has being doing well in the floodlit charity competition this year, although not in the rain on Monday, and maybe in the finals depending on results from pending matches of other teams.
Paulton held its end of season finals over the Bank Holiday Weekendweek end where an excellent standard of bowling was shown, the singles being won by Paul Kemp and the ladies by Lesley Beard; within a wonderful club atmosphere for both players and spectators and a great barbecue in the evening.
