We’re back off tour, and now down to the serious bowling. The first game last Tuesday was a Ladies’ friendly game against Prattens on their green. We won on two rinks and lost on one, but won overall by 55-51, so it was very close.
The next Ladies’ game in the Mendip League against Keynsham Ladies on their green. It was the first game we have played in such lovely weather. We won on two rinks and lost on one, so gained eight of the ten points. Overall we won by 65 shots to 37. The first Men’s game was a friendly against Stothert and Pitt, and was played at Fosseway. It was a very cold evening, and Fosseway only managed to win on one rink (well done Dave Yarlett’s rink) and lost overall 68-56 shots.
Fosseway Men played at Keynsham on Sunday in the Top Club competition. This competition consists of two-woods singles, four-woods singles, pairs, triples and rink games. Unfortunately, our Men were beaten in all disciplines apart from a win on the two-wood single. Well done, Dave Yarlett. Bad luck boys, better luck next year.
Don’t forget, the Plant Sale and coffee morning on Saturday, 12th May, 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Please come and support your club. Club night will be back to Monday next week, so everyone is welcome. Come along and have a go at this fabulous game.
