Two events have taken place over the last few weeks. On 8th January, Roger gave a film showing of ‘Dunkirk’, which I understand was excellent, while on 22nd January, after a supper of jacket potatoes expertly cooked by Celia, we all enjoyed a Beetle Drive.

There was much fun and hilarity, with Reg Morgan coming out as winner. This was followed by a four-part quiz, which was very taxing on our brains. The winning team was Della and John Nation with Rod Bruce. We might have to give them a handicap if they keep winning! Thanks to Barb Jones for sorting this evening out.

The next social night will be on 5th February, when Rod Bruce will present a slide show with a difference. All slides will be of the local area, and we will have to guess where they are. The food on this night will be hot dogs, so get your orders in.

I hope you have all been following the bowls on BBC2 over the last week. You must have seen how competitive and enjoyable the game is, so if you feel you would like to try this wonderful game, come along to Fosseway Bowls Club as soon as our season starts in April. Free tuition will be given; all you need is flat shoes.

Details can be obtained from Club Secretary, Ray Soby, on: 01761 453218, Ladies’ Captain, Sue Burke, on: 01761 414476, or Men’s Captain, Mike Poulter, on: 01761 415553. You could even come to one of our Social evenings to introduce yourself to our members. Watch these articles for dates.
