After a couple of very busy weeks for Purnell Bowls Club it was a quieter time at the club, although the Ladies had three League games with mixed results, winning one and losing two.
For the Men, the Somerset County League had another break without games and filled in with a friendly against Wells, which they won, but they still had an important game in the National Top Club verses Long Ashton, and came out winning three disciplines to two in a very closely-contested match.
Meanwhile, the lads remain unbeaten in the Mid-Somerset League with a fine 14–2 win over Frome Selwood.
Monday, 16th July is an important day in the Club’s calendar, when they hold their very popular Open Fours Day. Established for over twenty years, teams of four bowlers are invited to join us for a day’s bowling played in a very friendly atmosphere, with prizes presented to the eventual winners.
