It’s been another busy week for Norwest and overall a very successful one.

Our ladies had two Wild League games, the first away to Wyrral Park on an extremely hot afternoon. It was decided to play only twelve ends due to the heat and even this was a struggle, with the end result being a 12–0 defeat for our Norwest. Thursday, with the temperature a little cooler, we welcomed Castle Cary’s ladies to Norwest and after a very enjoyable afternoon, managed to win eight of the twelve points on offer.

The MSL game on Wednesday saw Norwest’s men claiming a very satisfactory 14–2 victory against our local rivals, Fosseway. On Saturday, in the men’s County League, the news was mixed as it was a victory for the A team, but a defeat for our B team.

The A team’s 12–0 victory was again against local rivals, but this time, it was the chaps from Paulton, while the B team’s 11–1 defeat was away to Frome Park.

This week’s other two games were both mixed, the first being on Friday evening, when we visited Bloomfield for an MMSL game and came away with a 12–0 victory. For our last game of the week, we welcomed our friends and fellow bowlers from Alexandra Park for a Sunday afternoon friendly and a super afternoon was had by all. After the game, we were treated to a super tea supplied by Woody and her helper, Mary. So, thanks go to them and also Captain Mike, barman, Brian and anyone else who lent a hand. Well done Norwest on your win, but the result isn’t really important, as after such a super afternoon I feel that everyone was a winner.  NH
