I had a nasty shock this week. I just realised there are only nine weeks left until Christmas!

I know my son has been beavering away for weeks doing his Christmas shopping and wrapping, but he always starts way too early for my liking. Of course, the only thing he forgot to buy was sellotape, so when I start my shopping I’d better put it at the top of my list, as mine seems to have disappeared!

“Now”, I hear you saying, “what’s that got to do with Norwest?” Well, it’s obvious really. I’ve got my begging bowl out. Our Christmas draw has been up-and-running for some time now, and I have to say we seem to be doing quite well, selling tickets, and with all the proceeds going to the club, that’s great news.

So, what do I want? Well, if any of you would like to donate a prize or two, that would be brilliant. Obviously, we buy prizes, but it’s a case of ‘the more the merrier’. So, if you can help, either give them to Mary or myself, or leave them, labelled, behind the bar. Let’s see if we can make this year’s draw a record one!

The draw evening is on Saturday, 15th December at the club, and I understand that we will be having some sort of entertainment, so it should be a good evening: get the date in your diary and I’ll see you there!
