Are you fed up with the terrible weather we have been having recently?

If it’s not raining cats and dogs, it’s bitter cold and frosty. The sky is continually grey and I don’t know about you, but it’s beginning to get me down.

I expect, most of our members being bowlers themselves, have been watching the World Championships on the television, which was great while it lasted but now, what can we do to amuse ourselves? Yes, you’ve guessed, I’ve got the answer!

On Saturday, 1st February we’ve got a social evening at Norwest. Just right to chase away those winter blues, and the best bit is that it’s something a bit different.

We are going to be having a TV music quiz first, and after supper we will be playing, ‘Get your Cards Right’. As usual, there will be an American supper and we’ll be having a raffle.

The evening starts at 8 p.m., but the bar will be open at 7.30 p.m. for you to get the drinks in.

Your quizmaster for the evening will be Len Gunstone. Len kindly volunteered and he isn’t even a member of Norwest, so please come along and support Len, join in the fun and banish the blues.

Finally, an update on our Club Treasurer, Mary Harston. She’s had her operation and is up and about, so it looks like she’ll be back in the swing of things, ready to chase you all for your money on subs night, which will be on the 28th March. So you’d better start saving all those pennies. NH
