WHAT a wonderful start to the season at Paulton Bowls Club with perfect weather and greens in such a good condition.

Although the first game of the season, for the men, did not go as planned, losing the Two Fours national competition against Keynsham by a slim margin of four shot over the two rinks, success was to come against Bloomfieldeld and Prattens in later friendlies.

The first County League game against City of Wells Bowls club, in a tense closely fought game, saw Paulton gain an overall win and a useful eight points.

Sunday’s mixed friendly against Paulton’s old friends Banwell, at home, also saw another slim win, in a game played in good spirits with some excellent bowling.

If anybody out there would care to try this excellent sport, at a friendly club, please come along to Paulton Bowls Club on a Friday evening, from 6pm where a warm welcome and tuition will be given.
