The club has not been in hibernation during the ‘closed’ season, with work going on behind the scenes finalising the fixture programme for the coming season. Thank you, Lesley.
Dave and his band of helpers have been working on the green to ensure it is in the best possible condition when the new season commences.
During January, we held a bingo night with fish and chip supper, which was very well supported. In February, thirty-plus members spent a very enjoyable weekend at the Dorset Golf and Leisure resort, bowling against other visiting clubs.
The standard of bowling by some was very good, but I have to report that one of Paulton’s teams had the dubious honour of gaining no points, but were rewarded with a Mars bar each! Thanks are due to Trevor and Dorset for organising such a superb weekend.
This approaching weekend we hold a quiz night with an American Supper.
With sadness we have to report the passing of a former member, Graham Curtis, and a minute’s silence was held during our recent committee meeting.
A reminder to members – enrolment will be on Thursday, 21st March from 6.30 p.m. Anyone who would like to try bowls, please come along on the evening, where you will receive a warm welcome to our friendly club.
