On Thursday, our ladies lost their rearranged Wild League game at Frome Park, despite some excellent bowling. Undeterred, the next day they travelled to Prattens’ Ladies for the first round of the Fear Cup. What a brilliant game it was, with impressive ends being played by both teams. After a hard-fought game, Paulton came out the winners. The tea that followed was second to none – thank you, Prattens’ Ladies.

The Gents came second in their County game on Saturday, against Knowle, despite winning on one rink and narrowly losing out on another. They meet Fry’s in the first round of the Turnbull Cup this coming Tuesday, and we wish them luck.

An enjoyable five-rink mixed Cup game at South Petherton on Sunday ended in an overall 78-67 result in Petherton’s favour. They will take this eleven shot lead into the return fixture in September. So, all still to play for!

Club competitions are in full swing and are producing some fine games. If anyone is passing our Club at the ‘Rec’ pop into our clubhouse and see what we get up to, especially Friday Club nights. You may want to join us!
