Like the weather, fortunes have been changeable for Paulton this week.
Against Norwest, in the traditional Golden Oldies competition played at home, we managed to win on only one rink with Norwest taking the overall win by fourteen shots.
The Ladies, on Thursday, playing on a challenging green at Wyrall Park again won on one rink but Wyrall took the game by 21 shots.
Saturday saw the club triples played in variable conditions, but producing some excellent, closely-fought games followed by a welcome relaxing tea, and we look forward to seeing the winning teams on Finals Day.
On Sunday, we welcomed the return of friends from Banwell Bowls Club, after a hiatus of several years, for a mixed friendly in which the the rinks were equally shared at two rinks apiece. However, Banwell emerged the winners by three shots.
In the coming week, Paulton Ladies are at home to Wells, there is another Golden Oldies at Purnell and the Men play their penultimate County League game against Alexandra Park.
