PAULTON Bowls Club women’s team have really got into their stride as the season progresses, showing improved form with good wins in their Wild League games, including a victory at home against Wyrral Park, plus wins in friendlies against Bloomfield and Weston.

While in the county Fear Cup they have made great progress, entering the quarter finals against Purnells after excellent wins in tough fought games against both Norwest and Bath.

The men, however, have had more mixed fortunes with a loss away at Norwest and a good win away against Keynsham A in the Saturday County League meant they moved up to fourth.

In the MSL on Wednesday evenings a loss, on two rinks against Frome Selwood at home, damaged their chance of top spot in the division.

However a win on all rinks away against Purnell B gaining 12 points, has brought Paulton back, equal on points but losing out on shot difference to Purnell A.
