This week, Pauline Dando and Chris Love began their defence of the Ladies’ County Pairs title. In the first round, they were up against two Ladies from Alexandra Park (Bath), and after a close game, Prattens’ Ladies won by 21 shots to 17; good luck in the next round!
In a Ladies friendly game, Prattens played Bath Ladies Bowling Club. Prattens won on one rink, but lost on two by a narrow margin of one shot. The only winning, and highest scoring rink, was Gill Moon with a score of 21 shots to thirteen, which meant that Prattens won overall by 52 shots to 46.
Prattens’ Men fared less-favourably against Bath on Saturday, when they lost on all four rinks. On Sunday, there was a friendly at Home to Banwell. Prattens won on one rink, lost on three and lost overall. The only winning rink was that of Richard Brimble’s.
In the coming week, Prattens’ Ladies have two friendly games at home to Fosseway and Wedmore, and there are two mixed-friendly games away to Trowbridge and Frome Park.
