On Tuesday last week, our Ladies Team entertained Weston Bath Ladies in a friendly, but lost on both rinks.
The following Thursday afternoon, the Ladies team played a game in the Wild League against Wyrral Park, and won, 68 to 53 shots. They had won on two rinks out of three, and had ten points.
On the Friday evening, in the Mixed Mid-Somerset League, we played against Frome Selwood and won on all three rinks. The overall score was 57 to 38 shots, which gave us twelve league points.
The penultimate game for our Men’s team to play in the Somerset County League this season was at Imperial in Bristol on the artificial green. Our Men found this surface a little difficult to play on, and came away with only two points. The overall score was 44 to 61.
Although we won one rink by one shot, we lost another rink by one shot, and losing heavier on the third rink meant we lost overall.
The week was finished off by a friendly played away at Winscombe, and we won on three rinks but lost on the other. The overall score was 81 shots to 53 shots (never mind about the wrong bias bowls; the china pig got a little fatter).
