We held another of our social evenings recently, which saw members participating in a Play Your Cards Right game.

Our quizmaster, Jim Cahill, and organiser, Richard Brimble, were ably assisted by two Dolly Dealers – Ena Sharples and Fagash Lil. We will keep their identity secret in order to save them any embarrassment, but we all know who you are!

Everyone present had a really enjoyable and fun evening; we’re still not sure how Jim managed to ask all the hundreds of people some very interesting questions! Supper was also provided as part of the evening and was prepared by Lin Brimble and helpers. The event raised almost £200 for Club funds.

It seems unbelievable to think we are just a few days away from the start of the season! We are hoping to open the Green on Saturday, 13th April, with President’s Day on Sunday, 14th April – let’s hope that the weather is kind to us!

Anyone is welcome to come along on Saturday to try the game of bowls, and following this, our regular club nights will be held every Monday evening at 6 p.m., when, again, everyone is welcome to come along. All you need to do is just wear flat shoes. Bowls can be borrowed and coaching is available free of charge.

If you are interested, but can’t make our Open Day on Saturday or club night on a Monday evening, please contact Barrie or Pauline Dando on: 01761 412705 for more information.

Our annual subscription is still very reasonable and we would welcome new members, whether or not you have played bowls before.
