In the Wild League this week, Prattens’ Ladies played local rivals, Purnell, away.

Prattens won on two rinks, and in a very close game on the third rink, lost by one shot on the last end. Prattens won overall and gained ten League points from the game.

Prattens’ Men played at Frome Selwood in the Mid-Somerset League and won on one rink, gaining two League points. However, in the Somerset County League against Knowle A, Prattens’ Men had a brilliant away win on every rink, gaining all twelve League points. Well done, all.

Prattens put out two mixed rinks for the game between the Mid-Somerset League and Somerset County Bowls Association Patrons Team; Prattens also had several players on the Patrons’ Team. The game was hosted by Frome Selwood; the weather wasn’t good but everyone

enjoyed the afternoon, which helped raise funds for the Patrons’ Charity.

On our annual Bowls Away Day at Dawlish, everyone had a great day. We were made very welcome by Dawlish Bowls Club, and each of the six rinks enjoyed a good game of bowls, played in a spirit of friendship. The weather was kind to us again this year and after refreshments in the clubhouse, Prattens had a lovely meal at a local restaurant before returning to Midsomer Norton. Thanks to everyone involved in the arrangements for the day.

In the coming week, Prattens’ Ladies are at home to Castle Cary and away to Wyrral Park in the Wild League. Prattens’ Men are at home to Norwest in the Mid-Somerset League and away to Frome Park B in the Somerset County League. There is also a Mixed Friendly Game at Home to Frome Park.

Our regular Monday evening club nights are continuing, and anyone is welcome to come along from 6 p.m. Contact Barrie or Pauline Dando on: 01761 412705 for more information.
