Sadly, Pauline Dando and Chris Love failed to make the final in the Ladies County Pairs Competition at Leamington. Nevertheless, it was a fantastic achievement to reach Leamington for the second time in three years.
They will, however, contest the Somerset County Ladies Pairs Final on 8th September, where they will play Ailsa Midwinter and Jan Dart of Purnell.
Prattens’ Ladies played Frome Selwood in the Wild League, where Prattens won on one rink, by a substantial margin, lost on two rinks, but won overall by 59 shots to 54, gaining eight League points. In the second Wild League game of the week, Wyrall Park failed to put out a team and therefore, under Wild League Rules, Prattens were awarded nine League points.
In the coming week, Prattens’ Ladies play the Semi-Finals of the Fear Plate, against Long Ashton, at Keynsham Bowls Club. They are also at Home to Street and Frome Park in the Wild League. Prattens’ Men are playing Purnell, at Norwest, in the Charity Cup Competition.
