On Tuesday afternoon, Prattens’ Ladies were at home to Alexandra Park (Bath). Prattens won on one rink and drew on the second, with the overall win going to Prattens. On Thursday afternoon, the Ladies were at home to Wedmore and Prattens won on all three rinks.
Prattens’ men were away at Knowle on Saturday in a Somerset County League game. Despite poor weather, the teams managed to play right through to complete the necessary 21 ends; Prattens won on all three rinks with an overall score of 73 shots to 40.
Friday evening saw Castle Cary travel to Prattens for a Mixed Mid-Somerset League game; Prattens won on two rinks and narrowly lost on one rink, the overall win went to Prattens, 65 shots to 57 and means that Prattens gain ten out of the available twelve League points.
In the Tony Allcock Over-60 two rink National Competition, due to be played on Sunday morning, the game was conceded by Bristol; Prattens therefore meet Castle Cary in the next round.
Banwell was the destination for a Mixed team on Sunday, where, in a friendly played in sunshine, Prattens won on two rinks and lost on two; the overall win went to Prattens 89 shots to 83.
This week, Prattens’ men are away to Victoria (Weston-super-Mare) in the second round of the National Two Four Competition and at home to local rivals, Norwest in the Mid-Somerset League. Prattens’ Ladies are away to Frome Park in their first Wild League game and at home to Stothert and Pitt (Bath) in a friendly. There are Mixed friendlies at home to Wyrral Park (Glastonbury) and Ashcombe (Weston-super-Mare).
Don’t forget that Prattens hold regular club nights on Monday at 6 p.m. All are welcome to come along and try the game of bowls, just wear flat shoes.
