In the County Triples competition, John Matthews, Mike Pratt and Terry Priddle have progressed into the final stages of the competition by beating Danny Kite’s three from Alexandra Park, Bath. The result was never in doubt from the start, with the Purnell boys pulling away and winning comfortably at the end, 20–11, they now face Sydney Gardens, Bath, in the next round at home.
There was only one game played last Saturday in the County League, the B team away to Keynsham. Played on a superb surface, the Purnell lads came away with all twelve points, winning on all rinks which keeps them at the top of Division Two East.
Because of torrential rain on Wednesday and Friday, both games against Norwest had to be postponed. The Ladies travelled to Weston, Bath, last Saturday morning two players short, but still came away winning the game overall.
