Paulton Bowls Club’s Men have lost their battle to stay in Division East One of the Somerset County League.
Defeat last Saturday at Keynsham B confirmed Paulton’s relegation. Other than relegation 12 years ago, which was a geographical re-organisation of the league at the time, Paulton’s men had never suffered a relegation since joining the league. Promotion the very next season saw them back up to East One, and is hopefully a good omen for the next campaign.
Both the Ladies’ and the Mixed teams continue to enjoy reasonable success in their respective matches, with the season rapidly drawing to a close. The club’s finals weekend is now in place, with all competitions sorted as to who will contest the games this coming weekend. This is always a weekend to look forward to for the club, as it has become a very enjoyable social time as well, with members able to enjoy superb lunches and refreshments throughout the days.
