Prattens’ Ladies had two Wild League games this week.
On Tuesday, against Castle Cary, they won on two rinks and lost on one, but also won overall 55 shots to 39; they gained 10 League points from this game.
On Thursday, against Wyrall Park, they won on one rink, drew on one and lost on one, but also won overall 34 shots to 23; they gained 9 League points from this game.
In the Fear Plate, the Ladies played Chew Stoke; they won two rinks to one and overall by 57 shots to 46.
Because of a game conceded by another club in the first round of the Fear Cup and the rule that only clubs who lose in the first round are eligible to enter the Fear Plate, the Ladies now have a Bye through to the quarter finals of the Fear Plate on 2nd September where they will play Bloomfield (Bath) or Stothert & Pitt (Bath).
Prattens’ Men lost both their games this week to teams from Purnell; the first in the Mid Somerset League and the second against Purnell C in the Somerset County League.
In a mixed friendly against Frome Park, Prattens played with only three players on each rink.
Despite this, Prattens won on two rinks even after the regulatory 25% reduction in the shots scored, but overall, the final adjusted score was 50 shots to 82 in favour of Frome Park.
