The Ladies beat Keynsham on Tuesday in the Southey Trophy.

The next round is against Taunton Dean in the semi-final on Sunday, 15th August.

On Friday, the Ladies’ team lost against Purnell in the Fear Cup, bringing to the end a good run in this competition. In the County Pairs competition, Pauline Dando and Liz Durnford lost in the semi-final at Ashcombe – commiserations, but well done for getting to that stage of the competition.

The Men’s team should have played against Frome Selwood on Tuesday, but Frome conceded the game as they could not get enough players, so we have played Away in the next round against Purnell on Tuesday, 3rd August.

The Men’s team did play their final game in the MSL at Norwest on Wednesday and although they lost by three shots, they obtained two points in the process.

On Saturday there was a Men’s friendly game at home to Bloomfield C, which was lost by ten shots (losing on two rinks and drawing on one).www.prattensbowls.com Graeme Smith
