TEMPLE Cloud have missed out on a trip to Lord’s after losing their last sixteen match to Charlton Kings in the National Village Cup on Sunday.

The Gloucestershire champions batted first and were always looking to score heavily on their small sloping pitch. Temple battled hard to contain Kings who finally ended their 40 over innings on 273-8.

In reply Dan Nolan and Reece Croker smashed 40 off the first three overs but wickets then began to fall at regular intervals. Andrew Mortimer managed 62 at a run a ball before being brilliantly caught on the boundary rope leaving Temple’s tail exposed.

George Fox hit 35 not out but it wasn’t enough for the visitors and Temple were eventually all out for 238.
