With no league fixture scheduled, Midsomer Norton Methodist Cricket Club organised a 30-over friendly with Blagdon CC on Saturday, July 26.

Blagdon opted to bat first and despite losing an early wicket, Ethan Deane and Will Taylor had got the visitors to 53 by the tenth over.

Away skipper Jeremy Board added a fifty partnership with his son Charlie, before other son Max joined Simon Price to pummel some boundaries and take the total into the 180s.

After the break, the Methodists opened with Alex Nash and Litton CC's Martin Hodge, who would get out early and make way for Gemma Ford.

This pair then added 45 for the second wicket before Nash was hit with an LBW by Ollie Price - the first of a fantastic five-wicket haul.

Craig Eyles' batting kept the home side in the game, but Price got him out too.

Richard Brand countered with a flurry of fours, but Anselm Rees-Mogg’s bowling would give Blagdon the win by 26 runs.
