The Youth section of Timsbury Cricket Club looked back on another successful season when it held its annual Presentation night in the clubroom. The Club Chairman, Austin Sage, said how delighted he was to see so many people at the function and thanked the coaches, managers, parents and groundsmen for all their support throughout the year.

Each of the managers gave a report on the past season. The Under-9s had played in festivals and Colin Weaver said that they had really enjoyed themselves. The format for that age group was just right and had given them all plenty of opportunities to bat and bowl.

The Under-11s were the success story of the year, finishing joint top of their section in the Bath and District Youth League. Alex Young, who had taken control of the side, said he was delighted at how well the team played, especially in bowling and fielding and that they were a very skilful and committed group.

Richard Davis said the Under-13s were great fun to be with and it had been a very enjoyable season. They didn’t win many games, but were keen to learn and move forward.

Under-15s Manager, Ellis Hancock, said it had been a fantastic year and he praised Sol Thompson for being a real influence on the team. He was delighted to see a number playing senior cricket for the first time and Lewis Bond Kendall scoring his first senior fifty was a classic example.
