On 24th July, from 2-5 pm, as part of National Croquet Week, Camerton and Peasedown Croquet Club will be celebrating sixty years of life-saving research by British Heart Foundation (BHF) by inviting you to come to the club, try croquet, enjoy a cream tea; all to support the fantastic work carried out by BHF.

Back in April, the club raised some £165 for BHF who work towards a world free of the fear of heart and circulatory disease, funding research and treatment that saves many people’s lives whilst supporting their families.

The day included hotly contested matches (always in the most sporting manner), plus a picnic lunch (all in line with covid rules!) John Rowley and Christina Sandford won through to the Final at Surbiton and John won the new ‘One Ball’ Trophy.

“We are an all-inclusive Club with close links to our local community. Croquet is an outdoor sport for everyone – one with health benefits and where, after a short introduction, you can take part in a game”, said Chair, Mo Boys, “that’s why we support the excellent work by BHF and invite you all to come to the club on 24th July, from 2 pm to 5 pm, to try croquet and enjoy a cream tea and have fun. We are part of Peasedown St John Cricket Club, just off Whitebrook Lane, Peasedown St John, Bath BA2 8LD.”

This year there has been a surge in membership as people look for a new interest and a warm welcome.

All equipment is provided – just wear flat soled shoes. If you are interested in trying croquet, please phone Mo Boys on: 07929 733640 to arrange your own croquet experience.
