PAULTON ROVERS 1 KINGS LYNN TOWN 3
Paulton finished with nine men and the visitors also had a player red carded through a mixture of indiscipline and poor officiating.
Leon Jeanne and Nuno Felix looked good going down each wing for Rovers and Jeanne’s cross was flicked on by Tom Knighton and Darren Mullings’ header was held by keeper, Alex John.
Jordan Ricketts was red carded for a tackle on Sam Gaughran, a decision that was to have a major impact on the game. John then made a point blank save from Jacek Zielonka, who on fourteen minutes, was on hand to turn in Mike Clunan’s cross to give the Linnets the lead.
Jeanne found Knighton, who was offside and then the winger hooked wide after good possesion. On the stroke of half-time, Knighton broke away and hit a low shot which Street managed to flick away with his foot.
Kings Lynn made it 2–0 after 49 minutes as Zielonka crossed and Toby Hillard struck home. The third goal on 55 minutes saw Fryatt’s push go unpunished, then Hillard
appeared to hand ball before David Bridges put the ball in the net. Five minutes later, Rovers reacted as another foul went unpunished and in the ensuing melee, Jack Allward was dismissed, along with Lynn’s striker, Hillard.
Paulton pulled a goal back late on when a free kick taken by Steve Williams was headed home by debutant, Felix. Rovers pressed to reduce the deficit as the chance fell to substitute, Sol Wheatley and twice from Felix. Man of the Match: Leon Jeanne (Paulton Rovers).
