Saturday, 26th November will mark the 50th Anniversary of the day Welton Rovers played Bournemouth and Boscombe in the FA Cup First Round.

To mark the occasion, the Somer Valley Sports Show will be broadcasting their regular Tuesday evening community radio show from West Clewes, the home of Welton Rovers.

The special anniversary show will start at the earlier time of 5 p.m. and will feature all the regular contributions from the Somer Valley’s sports teams, including Midsomer Norton Cricket Club, Radstock Town, Paulton Rovers and Midsomer Norton Rugby Club.

Yet it’s Welton’s encounter with Bournemouth at Dean Court, who changed their name in 1972 to the AFC Bournemouth we know today, that provides the main feature for the show, including interviews with fans and players involved in the game itself, as well as a special interview with Bournemouth’s Club Secretary, Neil Vacher.

Sports fans from across the area should tune in to a Sport Show to remember at 5 p.m. on November 22nd. Broadcasting online 97.5 Somer Valley FM is the community radio station serving the people of Midsomer Norton, Radstock, Paulton and the surrounding villages.
