A battling game saw the spoils evenly shared, as both sides climb to safety.

Totton took the lead on fourteen minutes as Connor Gunson’s left wing corner was headed home by Captain, David Allen.

Rovers levelled eleven minutes later as Sol Wheatley threaded the ball to Jordan Ricketts and his low cross was turned home by Elliott Gibbons.

Matt Benham, splitting the visiting defence, found Ricketts whose low shot when agonisingly just wide.

The two again combined early in the second half as the shot went wide.

On 59 minutes, Totton went ahead as Wheatley lost the ball and Alfy Whittingham ran on and slotted a firm drive past Paulton stopper, George Burton.

Benham won the ball in midfield found Reeko Best, who laid the ball back to Ricketts to side foot home an equaliser.

Benham then brought a save from visiting keeper, Patrick O’Flaherty, who is on loan from AFC Bournemouth.

Wheatley crossed from the right and Benham headed wide of the target.

Nat Sherbourne twisted and turned for the Stags and his shot was watched by home keeper, Burton, as it sailed past the post.
