It was business as usual for the Seniors’ section of Fosseway Golf Club, with a convincing home win followed by an equally decisive away defeat in the latest series of social matches.

The team played Cricket St Thomas twice in the space of six days and the first meeting saw Fosseway come out on top by four matches to two. Captain Gerry Rowell set the pattern with a 2&1 win in partnership with Reg Curtis and there were similar outcomes for Allen Cheney and Brian Phelps and Barry Dugmore and Terry Button. It was good to see Alan Gould back in action and together with John Bendle, he finished two up. Nick Foxwell and Alan Jones finished one down and Graham Edgell and Bob Smith were beaten 3&2.

The long trip to Cannington ended in a 5–1 defeat for the Fosseway side. Dugmore and Frank Reeves prevented a whitewash, ending their match one up. Captain Rowell and Bendle lost 5&4, Foxwell and Jones were beaten 6&4 while the Curtis brothers, Reg and Richard, were defeated 4&2. Button and Arthur Bellinger were edged out 2&1 and Cyril Blacker and Martyn Cuer fought all the way before finishing one down.
