Tiverton totally dominated the tie with five first half goals, scoring through Jamie Short in the first minute. Kailan Gould found Nathan Legge in a rare Paulton attack, but his shot was easily held by Joe Perry. On eighteen minutes, Jamie Price crossed for Levi Landricombe to score at the second attempt.
Seven minutes later, it was 3–0 as a long through ball saw Owen Howe run on to score. Another two minutes and it was 4–0, as Levi Landricombe flicked on for Howe to nab his second.
It was 5–0 on the half hour with Howe returning the compliment, finding Landricombe to slam home.
Paulton came out determined and pulled a goal back in the second half as Gould’s free kick sailed into the net on fifty-two minutes.
A minute later, Rovers nearly grabbed another as ‘Tivvy’s Captain, Steve Kingdon, smacked a header against his own cross bar. Howe chased a long ball on 65 minutes and hit his hat trick to make it 6–1. Price, who was lucky not to have had a yellow card, turned to hit the post with Hannah beaten. Hannah then saved from Short and held a chip from Price. Late on, Rovers’ substitute, James Byrne, had a shot blocked.
Tiverton are now home to Wimborne Town or AFC Totton, who face a replay.
