Wimborne Town 1 Paulton Rovers 6

Paulton totally outplayed Southern League Premier strugglers Wimborne in a game that the visitors controlled from start to finish.

After an Ed Butcher free-kick was headed wide by Leighton Thomas and a neat move involving James Byrne, Led Ibrahim and Adam Kelly, Rovers won corner on the right taken by Butcher and Neil Martin headed home in the ninety minute.

Thomas made it 2-0 on fifteen minutes as Butcher’s free-kick was headed back across goal by Martin and Thomas slotted home.

Wimborne decreased the deficit on 48 minutes a long ball from sub Billy Mayberry found Dylan Ive who shot home.

Rovers piled on the pressure and made it 3-1 on 63 minutes as Butcher crossed Kelly and laid the ball to Ibrahim who tapped home.

Paulton increased the lead after 69 minutes as Ibrahim threaded to Butcher who outplaced his marker to fire a low shot passed keeper Ryan Hall.

It was 5-1 on 78 minutes as subs Will Harvey and Thierry Swaby played a one two and Swaby drove the ball past Hall.

On 81 minutes Dave O’Hare completed the romp as he volley home after Swaby’s shot was blocked.

In the final minute, Rovers keeper Aaron Sainsbury made a tremendous save from Ive tipping over a pile driver of a shot.
