Congratulations to two of our ladies, Pauline Dando and Chris Love, who have made it through to the semi-final of the County Pairs competition; the game will be played on Sunday, 9th July at Bath Bowling Club against ladies from either Clevedon Prom or Portishead RBL.
In the Ladies’ friendly against Bloomfield (Bath), which was shortened due to the hot weather, Prattens won on both rinks and overall by 25 shots to 18.
A Mixed Mid-Somerset League game at Home to Fosseway saw Prattens win on two rinks, lose on one and win overall by 61 shots to 52, which secured 10 out of 12 available League points.
There was also a mixed friendly Away to Paulton, in which Prattens won on three rinks, lost on one and won overall by 78 shots to 40.
Prattens’ Men met Frome Selwood in the Mid-Somerset League; overall it was a close game, but Prattens won on one rink, lost on three and lost overall by 63 shots to 76. In the Somerset County League game Away to Purnell C, Prattens won on two rinks, lost on one and won overall by 63 shots to 49 and so secured 10 out of 12 available League points.
In the coming week, Prattens’ Ladies have two Wild League games at Home to Wells and Away to Norwest; Prattens’ Men are Home to Purnells in the Mid-Somerset League and Away to Bloomfield B in the Somerset County League.
Members of Prattens are looking forward to the annual Bowls Away Day, which is at Sidmouth next Sunday.
Club nights continue on Mondays at 6 p.m. All are welcome to come along and try the game of bowls, just wear flat shoes. Bowls can be borrowed and coaching is available free of charge.
