STRATFORD TOWN 4 PAULTON ROVERS 0

Paulton Rovers’ recent fine run can down with a bump at rainy, windswept Stratford, who mastered the conditions better to seal victory.

Leon Jeanne broke down the left and cut along the by-line only for his cross to be cleared. Town took the lead on ten minutes after Josh Ford fouled Aaron Moses-Garvey, who took the free kick met by a glancing header from Michael McGrath.

Paulton lost the ball in midfield, picked up by Jamie Sheldon to hit home a twenty-five yard low drive to make it 2–0. Aaron Brown tested home keeper, Andy Kemp, who, under pressure, punched the ball away. Then Kyle Tooze drove over from distance.

Stratford made it 3-0 after thirty-one minutes and if Rovers had hoped to benefit from the wind, Stratford had other ideas and as much as Tony Ricketts’ men pressed, they found their opponents largely keeping the ball on the floor.

Jeanne had several crosses headed clear and Captain, Darren Mullings, did well to control and flick the ball over his marker only for his half volley to wizz past the post. Jordan Ricketts, Tooze and Jeanne combined well, but there was no end product.

The killer punch came after sixty-six minutes when John hit the ball upfield which was met by Mosses-Garvey, who chipped over the keeper and into the net for the fourth goal.

Paulton were at Hungerford Town on Monday this week and travel to Redditch United on Saturday, then away the following Monday evening at Hitchin Town, kick-off at 7.45 p.m.
