STRUGGLING Welton Rovers went down to a 4-1 away defeat against Bitton in the first division of the Jewson Western Football League in mid-week.

It was their ninth loss in as many games and left them four points adrift at the bottom of the table with a minus goals deficit of 19.

In the big clash of the night, leaders Longwell Green Sports were beaten 3-2 at home by Bristol Telephones who moved above their rivals in the table.

Mendip Broadwalk, lying just above Welton in the table, picked up only their fourth point of the season when they drew 1-1 away to Avonmouth who would have gone third if they had won.

AEK Boco kept in touch with the leaders after they gained a convincing 5-0 away victory over Keynsham Town while Radstock Town won 3-2 at Calne.
