WELTON Rovers crashed to a 13-0 away defeat against Longwell Green Sports in the first division of the Jewson Western Football League in mid-week.
They were thrashed by a rampant Longwell side who showed Welton no mercy. It was Rovers’ 13th league game of the season and they remain firmly anchored at the foot of the table with zero points and are well adrift from the pack.
Welton were a goal down in the first minute, five at half-time and the hosts scored eight more times in the second half plus hitting the woodwork on more than one occasion.
After showing some promising form early on in the season - they beat Chipping Sodbury 1-0 at home in the FA Vase in August - Welton have been struggling and lost 6-1 at Warminster in a game before the match at Longwell.
