Wells Golf Club’s Two Ball Texas Scramble was won by Trevor Cook and Ian Gleave with nett 65. It was held on what can only be described as a cold, cold day and it was good to see so many people braving the conditions.

There were ninety competitors on the day contending with greens like concrete and some even had a crust on that that Mary Berry would have been proud of! There was an average score for all competitors of nett 69, which shows great golf despite the biting cold. In second place with net 65.25 were Pascal Norman and Michael Sharp, followed in third place, with nett 66, by Stephen Porter and David Cunningham.

There were five Two Spots on the day: T. Cook and I. Gleave, D. Szymanski and A. Marshall, R. Sampson and P. Michell (x2) and R. Meek and R. Davey. The Ladies Christmas Stableford results are: First Silver, Erica Klim and First Bronze, Janice White. The competition was held over three weeks.

The Annual Ladies’ Golf Dinner Night was held on Friday, 20th January with 34 ladies attending. The evening started with a welcome drink from the Ladies Captain, Tina Davies. Grace was said by Jenny Ead. During the meal, a quiz was handed round, testing the golfing knowledge to the limit. After dinner fun was had with games of Bingo and Pictionary.
